You might know a domain name simply as the Web address or
“.COM.” When someone types a domain name into a Web browser, the requested Web
page opens. For example, the domain name www.yourpersonaldomainname.com locates
an Internet address for “yourpersonaldomainname.com.”
A Top-Level Domain (TLD) is the part of the domain name located
to the right of the dot (“.”). The most common TLD in use today is .COM,
closely followed by .NET and .ORG. There are several other popular top-level
domains, including .BIZ, .INFO, .NAME, .WS and .MOBI.
Top-level domains have certain guidelines attached, but are
generally available to any registrant, anywhere in the world. Exceptions are
restricted TLDs (rTLDs)— which include .BIZ and .NAME—that require the
registrant to represent a certain type of entity, or to belong to a certain
community. For example, the .NAME TLD is available strictly to individuals.
A top-level domain can also be of geographic significance and
only available to registrants in the locale defined by the TLD. These are
called country-code TLDs (ccTLDs) and include such top-level domains as .US
(United States), .EU (Europe), .TV (Tuvalu), .CC (Cocos Islands), .DE (Germany),
.JP (Japan), .BE (Belgium), .UK (United Kingdom), .NZ (New Zealand) and .CN
(China).
Tip: If the .COM you want to register is already taken, you can
check to see if it’s available with an alternate TLD. You may also want to
consider registering all or some of the more common TLDs of the same domain
name in order to protect your brand, your site or yourself from someone else
with your brand or name in mind.
To find out which TLDs we currently offer, or for more
information on registering domain names, please visit our Web site at www.1websitesolution.com. Visit today and you can get a 1-year, new domain name,
transfer or renewal for only $1.99* with each and every new, non-domain product
you buy—no limit!
High-priced registrars like Network Solutions® and
Register.com try to maintain their business on a flimsy foundation: the
lingering misconception that you have to pay $30-35 to register your domain
name with a quality outfit. This simply is not true.
Every day, thousands of sensible, informed buyers—individuals,
families, businesses small and large and speculators—come to One Website
Solution for low prices and premium value. In fact, a new domain name is
registered with One Website Solution every 1.3 seconds.
One Website Solution is an ICANN-accredited registrar for .COM,
.NET, .ORG, .INFO, .BIZ and .US domain names.
We were able to achieve this exciting milestone thanks to the
help of our loyal, smart customers. Our reputation for industry-best service
and value has kept them coming back for more and led them to refer us to their
friends, family members and business associates.
One Website Solution customers register their domains for prices
up to 70% less than the competition, and receive FREE with every domain
purchase:

·
Comprehensive management tools

·
Expert, “best-in-industry” live customer service and support,
24/7
·
State-of-the-art, “best-of-breed” systems
·
And much more
Simply follow these five easy steps:
Step 1: Check Domain Name Availability
See if the
name you want is taken, and what your options are if it is.
Step 2: Select Length of Your Registration
Register
your domain from one year up to 10.
Step 3: Create Your Contact Information
Important
when the time comes to renew your domain name.
Step 4: Select From Hosting Options
To put your
domain name on the Internet, you first need a host.
Step 5: Confirm Your Registration Details
Once you complete registration, how you use
your new domain name is up to you. Here are a few of the most common options:
·
Get a personalized email address. An
email account can be a great way to put your domain to use, and gives you a
personalized address that friends, family and business contacts will easily
remember and associate directly with you.
·
Put your Web site on the Internet. If
your site design is complete, you will need to acquire a hosting account to
upload your site on the Internet. If you have not built your Web site, there
are several easy and affordable options for you to quickly put together a
professional, quality site (see Section 2—Building a Web Site).
·
Launch your own blog. Establish your online
presence without a traditional Web by creating your own blog. All One Website
Solution domain names come with free, easy-to use blogging tools to let you
take advantage of this popular format, without additional software or
experience.
·
Forward domain names that are similar to your primary domain
name. The more domain names you register, the better. You’ll prevent
others from registering a similar domain name to yours. What to do with all
these names? Forward them to your main domain name!
·
Turn your parked domain into cash! It’s
easy with our Parking Service Partners. Whether you have one domain or a
growing portfolio, parking can turn those domains into a cash generator! Each
time someone clicks on advertising that generates revenue on your parked pages,
you share in the revenue.
·
Wait. Maybe you haven’t decided what to do with your new domain name.
There’s no rush. You can leave it parked with One Website Solution for the
length of your registration.
Search and register your domain name by visiting www.1websitesolution.com.
You may transfer your domain name from your current registrar to
One Website Solution at any time (within the restrictions set by ICANN® and
your current registrar).
Note:
ICANN regulations prohibit transferring a domain name that has been registered
or transferred within the last 60 days.
One Website Solution offers a fast, automated, risk-free domain
transfer thanks to an innovative Rapid Transfer System™ that spares you steps and
saves you time (transfers are often completed in five days or less, but may
take up to seven days to complete).
There is also a professional Transfer Concierge available to
assist you personally, 24/7, in the transfer process. Best of all, any time
remaining on your existing registration transfers with your domain, plus you
receive a FREE one-year extension.
Call a
Transfer Concierge anytime! 1-480-505-8866
Domain name transfers may only be initiated once acceptance of the
transfer agreement is recorded, payment is made, and the administrative contact
has responded positively giving permission to transfer the domain name. Your
transfer is risk-free. If it fails to go through for any reason at all, One
Website Solution will refund your fee, no questions asked.
Follow these easy steps to ensure a smooth and timely transfer:
Step 1: Purchase a transfer from our Web site by
visiting www.1websitesolution.com.
Step 2: Advise the administrative contact of your
domain that the name is being transferred. One Website Solution will email your
administrative contact by the next business day to request transfer approval.
Step 3: When this acceptance is received, One
Website Solution will send a transfer request to the Registry and then the
Registry will email your current registrar.
Step 4: Most likely, your current registrar will
send your administrative contact an email asking for your approval of the
transfer to One Website Solution. Please respond as directed.
Step 5: Your current registrar will send an
acceptance or rejection notice to the Registry and the Registry will email One
Website Solution a notice of the acceptance or rejection.
Step 6: One Website Solution will send you an
email informing you that the transfer is complete or has failed.
After One Website Solution has notified you that the transfer is
complete, log in to your account at http://www.1websitesolution.com/login.php and verify the
contact information for your domain.
Note: You are responsible for updating the administrative
contact’s email identified in the previous registrar’s WhoIs database.
Tip: Some registrars lock domain names to prevent unauthorized
transfers. Your domain name must be unlocked before the transfer can be
completed. You can usually unlock your domain name by logging into your account
at your current registrar, or by contacting their Customer Service department.
To retrieve your login information, visit us at http://www.1WebsiteSolution.com/login.php and
click the “Help me retrieve my password” link.
When you register a domain, your name, address, email address
and phone number are made available to anyone who wants to see it. Your
personal information is exposed 24 hours a day, everyday, to anyone, anywhere.
You have the power to change this. With a One Website Solution private
(“unlisted”) registration, registering a domain name doesn’t mean sacrificing
your privacy.
Your new or existing domain is registered in the name of Domains
By Proxy® (a One Website Solution affiliate company)—so their information is
made public—not yours. Your information stays private, but you retain full
benefits of domain registration. You can cancel, sell, renew or transfer your
domain; set-up name servers for your domain; and resolve disputes involving
your domain.

simple and can generally be completed in just 10 minutes!

Putting a Web site on the Internet is
one of the most common uses for a domain name. A Web site can help you keep in touch
with family, friends or customers of your business. It can sell products or
services, improve customer service or simply expand your exposure into new
market areas.
There are many options when it comes
to building and hosting a Web site. With every One Website Solution domain
name, customers receive a free starter Web page. When you’re ready for more,
One Website Solution offers WebSite Tonight®, the perfect tool for clicking and
building a more complete site online in minutes. Choose from 8,000 custom
photographic images and hundreds of professionally created templates or create
your own. Best of all, hosting and email are included.
And when you’re ready to build and
maintain a thriving online store, Quick Shopping Cart® offers
everything you will need. It makes selling goods and services on the Internet
easy and affordable. Everything you need is built right in: storefront and
catalog builders; hosting; payment methods; shipping options; tax calculation; inventory
management; reporting and more.
A web log (or “blog”) is similar to
an online journal. It’s designed to be easy to update and maintain—even if you
have no experience running a Web site. Any type of information can be presented
on a blog, from stories about a family vacation to in-depth commentary on
global events. In addition, most blogs allow visitors to post comments and
leave feedback for the person running the site, known as a “blogger.”
Every One Website Solution domain
name comes with a free ad-supported blog builder. For those who are interested
in additional disk space and bandwidth, One Website Solution also offers an
ad-free version of Quick Blogcast. The expanded version of Quick
Blogcast includes over 60 customizable templates, capacity for multiple blogs
and authors, email updates, built-in blog management tools, and both audio and
video podcast capabilities.
You can even share, print and manage
your photos online! Online Photo Filer gives you an online photo album
site for sharing photos, as well as easy-to-use editing tools to make sure your
photos look their very best. You can also order high quality prints directly
from your album—and have them delivered right to your door! Best of all, Online
Photo Filer provides login-free photo sharing at your personal domain name*, so your
friends and family don’t have to hassle with signing up or logging in just to
view your pictures.

Hosting (also
known as Web site hosting or Web hosting) is the business of housing, serving
and maintaining files for one or more Web sites, and providing Internet access
(bandwidth). In a sense, you rent space on a computer to hold your Web site.
Your host, the computer where your Web site files are stored, assigns an
address (DNS) for your files to your domain name so that anyone can find your
Web site on the Internet by typing in your domain name. One Website Solution is
an excellent choice for Web hosting, providing customers with world-class
hosting and servers. Unlike many of its competitors, One Website Solution owns,
operates and supports the hosting plans and servers it provides, down to the
very last cable and disk. With One Website Solution, you’ll get fast,
dependable hosting and servers, 24/7 live customer support, unbeatable prices
and free access to our exclusive Hosting Community.
While our hosting plans are ideal for
most individuals and small businesses, our dedicated servers and virtual
dedicated servers are perfect for hosting multiple traffic-intensive Web sites
on one server, running enterprise or gaming applications, or operating
development environments. You have the option of purchasing a preconfigured
dedicated or virtual dedicated server plan or the flexibility to build your own
server.
In order to choose the right hosting
or server plan, you’ll need to consider a few things:
·
How was your Web site designed?
·
How much traffic or how many visitors
do you expect monthly?
·
How large is your site?
·
What Web applications will you need?
·
How many sites do you plan to host?
Visit www.1websitesolution.com/web_hosting.php to see which One Website Solution Hosting or Server Plan
works best for you.
There are principles fundamental to
Web design that you should keep in mind when creating your Web site:
Design for the lowest common
denominator. Remember that not every user—not even
the majority of users—have the fastest computer on the market with a 19- or
21-inch monitor. When designing your Web site, accommodate an 800x600-pixel
view and an average processor speed. In other words, don’t use a lot of large,
high-resolution graphics on a page that defaults to a 1600x1200-pixel view.
Ideally, your visitors should be able to see the whole page, or at least the
majority of the page, without having to scroll.
In addition, you don’t want your
visitors waiting five minutes for your graphics to load before they can view
the page. Try to keep your use of graphics or images to a minimum and optimize
file sizes as much as possible. Include images only where they support the
content of your page. Also, try not to include too many images on a single
page. If your pages take too long to load, it will discourage your visitors and
they may move on to a different Web site.
Use colors and fonts sparingly. Less is more with Web design. Stick with one or two
colors, three at the most, when designing your Web site. And remember that it
is easier on the eyes to read dark text on a light background than light text
on a dark background. Ideally, it is best to have black text on a white
background; the more contrast the better. It is also important to know that
Sans Serif fonts are easier to read on a computer screen than Serif fonts are.
(Serif fonts are typefaces that have “tails” on the letters, like Times New Roman
or Courier. Sans Serif fonts are typefaces that do not have “tails” like Arial
or Verdana.) On a computer screen, Serif fonts usually appear blurry,
especially in smaller font sizes. Choose one Sans Serif font type and stick
with it throughout your site.
Organization and navigation. Arrange your pages and links in a logical flow so your
visitors can make their way around your site without getting lost or having to
search for additional information. Navigational menus help visitors jump
quickly from page to page or find their way back to a page they previously
viewed. One important rule: Don’t move the location of your navigation on each
page, forcing the visitor to look for it.
Give your visitors relevant content. Visitors come to your site looking for content they
believe they will find on your site. If your domain name has the word “cats” in
it and your content is all about kitchen appliances, your visitors will not
return.
Try to ensure that each page of your
site has a specific point or main idea, and then stick to that point. If you
have additional content that is related, link to that content as a related
page. Keep your page content short and to the point.
Not comfortable creating your own
graphics or Web site? Try a Custom Logo or Custom Web Site Design from
One Website Solution.

A Merchant Account lets you
accept credit card purchases through your e-Commerce site. Your Merchant
Account provider will authorize credit card purchases, process them and deposit
the funds into your account. A Merchant Account helps you to not only increase
sales, but also cut paperwork and reduce risk. A Merchant Account, however,
does not provide a shopping cart; only the means to process credit card
transactions.

Getting potential prospects and
customers to visit your Web site may prove to be one of the most challenging
undertakings when entering the online world. Many factors influence your site’s
visibility and how quickly and easily visitors can locate it. Understanding
search engines and search result rankings are important keys to getting your
Web site listed higher in search results. Keep reading for more ideas on how to
increase your Web site traffic.
You should consider registering any
variations of your domain name(s) that your visitors may possibly mistype in
their browser when searching for your site—the cost is minimal, but the return
on investment can be tremendous.
Start by registering the most common
alternatives to your chosen domain name: such as misspellings, alternate
spellings or other names your business may be known as. These are simple
variations or misspellings of your domain name, such as “yourepersonaldomainname.com”
or “yourpersonaldomanname.com.”
While you can’t anticipate all of the
possible alternatives, starting with the simple and obvious alternatives can
save your customers hours trying to figure out why they can’t locate your site.
You can forward these variations of your domain name to your actual Web site so
that your customers or visitors who mistype your domain name will still find
themselves at your Web site.
Driving visitors to your site is one of the
greatest, and most important, challenges on the Web. We’ve already discussed a
couple effective and affordable ways to increase traffic and market your Web
site, One Website Solution’s Business and Protected Registrations (see page 5).
But perhaps the most powerful tool for increasing your Web site’s traffic is
making sure your site is optimized for search engines. Your Web site may be
perfect, but if it isn’t designed and organized to optimize search engine
listing, it may never be seen.
Most Web site traffic and online
purchases come from search engines or directories like Google®, Yahoo!® or MSN®. Internet users enter keywords on these search engines in
order to receive a listing of the most relevant Web sites to their keywords.
Although a keyword may return thousands of results, most internet users will
only browse through the first 10, maybe 20 entries in the results and may
actually visit less than five of the pages listed before searching for a new
keyword. Traffic Blazer® from One Website Solution makes it easy to optimize,
analyze and submit your Web pages to key search engines and directories with no
experience necessary:
4 Steps to Success:
Step 1: Search Engine Optimization—Position your Web site for top rankings with Google and
other leading search engines. Traffic Blazer’s keyword and site optimization
show you the words and phrases search engine users search for (powered by
Yahoo!’s Sponsored Search).
Step 2: Web Site Analysis—Traffic Blazer’s robust analysis (including keyword
usage, spiderability, and Robots.txt files and Robots Meta tags) of your site’s
strengths and potential weaknesses helps you secure crucial search engine
success.
Step 3: Submission—Easily submit your Web page(s) to leading search engines.
Around the world or region-specific, it’s up to you. Traffic Blazer submits
your site to more than 200 search engines and directories in all!
You can even use Traffic Blazer to
submit your blog to more than 75 blog search engines and directories. Or,
target your local audience. Submit your site to local search engine programs
like Google®Local, Yahoo!®Local, Live Search (MSN) and Local.com™.

Step 4: Reporting—No more wondering about results. Traffic Blazer is loaded
with reports that give you answers, including Link Popularity to gauge the
crucial number of inbound links to your Web page; List Checking to verify that
your Web page is listed with the Internet’s leading search engines and
directories; Alexa®/Google®Rank to assess your page’s online performance;
Competitor Rank to compare your site’s search engine ranking to that of your
competitors; and Keyword Ranking to learn your current ranking on
AltaVista,®HotBot,®Lycos®and MSN.®
Get all the features of Traffic
Blazer for all your Web sites—at a 33% savings! Add Traffic Blazer to your second, third, fourth or more
Web sites and save big with each additional site.

Although search engine optimization can go a long way toward
promoting a Web site, the only way to guarantee a high search engine ranking is
to join a pay-perclick advertising program. While pay-per-click can be a
costly solution, Web visibility is guaranteed for those willing to pay for it.
Pay-per-click is usually based on advertiser bidding, where the advertisers bid
on the highest ranking for a given search phrase. The highest bidder gains the
highest ranking; the second-highest bidder gains the second-highest ranking;
and so on. The advertisers are then billed the bid amount each time a visitor
clicks to the site via the paid-inclusion provider’s search engine listing.
Although bidding is the most common way to determine the per-click cost, some
pay-per-click providers charge a flat click-through fee. Pay-per click programs
are offered by search engines like Google®, Yahoo®and Windows Live™ Search, all of which provide listings for a number of
leading search engines, directories and Web portals. In search engines, pay-perclick
listings generally show up either as Sponsored Listings or as regular search
results. In some cases, the listing will mention the per-click cost to the
advertiser.
Traffic Blazer introduces users to
the top paid placement search engines like Google, Yahoo, & Windows Live
Search. Joining these programs will add your business to the search results of
the Internet’s top search engines, directories and portals.

Information on the Internet is easily
accessible to anyone who has an Internet connection. Unfortunately, not
everyone is searching for your information for the right reasons. There are
many ways to ensure the safety and security of your personal information, as
well as the content on your Web site. One Website Solution offers several
services that can help ensure your personal information, your Web site and even
your original work are kept safe.
When you value your Web site or
source code and the hard work that went into it, you need indisputable legal proof
that you own your work. And that proof is a Registration Certificate issued by
the U.S. Copyright Office.
Just as a trademark protects a logo
and a patent protects an invention, a federal copyright protects your Web site,
literary works and more. c-Site® eliminates the confusion and complexity from the copyright
process. Its step-by-step wizard and expert assistance guides you through
completing the copyright application in just minutes.
Once completed, simply upload your
work. The One Website Solution team of experts will review it for accuracy and
compliance with federal copyright laws. Then file it with the U.S. Copyright
Office. Upon approval, the Registration Certificate is mailed directly to you.
It’s that simple!

A Copyright is a form of protection provided
to authors of “original works of authorship”, both published and unpublished.
Copyright protects the form of expression rather than the subject of the
expression.
Federal copyright registrations are
issued by the U.S. Copyright Office. They give the copyright owner exclusive
rights to reproduce the copyrighted work, to prepare derivative works, to
distribute copies of the work and to perform and display the work publicly.
A Trademark is a word, name, symbol
or device which indicates the source of a product and distinguishes it from the
products of others. A service mark identifies and distinguishes the source of a
service instead of a product. Trademarks are issued by the U.S. Patent &
Trademark Office. They prevent others from using a confusingly similar mark,
but cannot prevent others from making the same products or from selling the
same products under a clearly different mark.
A Patent is the grant of a property
right to an inventor. What is granted is the right to exclude others from
using, offering for sale, selling or importing the invention. Patents are
issued by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.
Whether you’re new to domain names or
a seasoned veteran, you should consider registering any under-handed versions
of your domain name(s) to protect your personal and professional identity
(harmful domain name alternatives can include, but are not limited to,
“ihateyourpersonaldomainname” or “yourpersonaldomainnamesucks”).
While you can’t anticipate all the
possible alternatives, starting with the simple removal of the more obvious
domain names can save you legal hassles and frustration in the event a third
party attempts to use these names in a way that is harmful to you or your
business.
In the event that someone else does
own a harmful version of your domain name, consider backordering that name and
getting it off the market the second it becomes available.
An ICANN-accredited domain registrar,
One Website Solution offers products at prices up to 70% less than the
competition and supports these products with world-class 24/7 live customer
service.
One Website Solution is the sole
developer and proprietor of its technology, enabling the company to provide its
customers better support and ensure the most advanced and competitively priced
products and services available.
One Website Solution delivers
superior value to customers by adhering to a 9-point value plan, ensuring that
it is the very best choice for your domain name and Web services needs.
1. Risk-free, money-back guarantee transfers. A domain transfer occasionally fails. This is usually due
to your former registrar trying to keep your money, even though that registrar
is legally required to comply with your transfer request. With One Website
Solution, you’re protected by a Rapid Transfer System™ that saves
time and eliminates errors, extracting critical information automatically. You
no longer need to find it and type it yourself. And there’s a Transfer
Concierge team trained, dedicated and available to you 24/7. Lastly, One
Website Solution transfers are absolutely risk free and fully refundable. If
your transfer to One Website Solution fails for any reason, you will be
notified and issued a refund. Guaranteed.
2. More free, value-added services with every domain. One Website Solution is proud to have you as a customer
and wants you to get the most out of your domain ownership. With every domain
purchase, you receive all the following, FREE: Personalized Email; Hosting with
Web site Builder; Blog; Photo Album; Change of Registrant; Parked or “For Sale”
Page; Domain Locking; Status Alerts; Domain Forwarding; Domain Masking; Total
DNS Control and 100 Email Forwards.
3. Consistently
lower prices on everything we offer. It starts with
low-cost domains. But it extends to everything else One Website Solution
develops and offers. Like hosting accounts; domain services; fraud, spam, and
virus protected email accounts; SSL certificates; utility software and more.
And One Website Solution is constantly developing more, better, lower-cost ways
to improve your domain ownership, Internet- and PC-experience.
4. Best-in-industry live customer support, 24/7. This is a point of pride for One Website Solution. You
deserve the best. Customer service and support is available to you either by
phone, Web board, or email 24 hours a day, everyday. Many competitors don’t
even provide a telephone number for you to call!
5. Fast, easy bulk domain transfers and registrations. One Website Solution’s super-low prices, intuitive tools,
Rapid Transfer System™ and concierge support make it a snap.
6. Just-right, affordable hosting and server options. One Website Solution hosts all of its customer sites on
its own secure servers. Most of their competitors “job out” hosting or servers
to the highest bidder. If you ever have an issue with your One Website Solution
plans, just call and the problem will be solved immediately. With the
competition, there’s no telling who you should call.
7. Superior domain search and management tools. One Website Solution’s domain search and portfolio
management tools are second to none. Once you’ve registered your domain names,
just log in at “Manage My Domains” and select domains to modify, either
individually or in bulk. Apply your changes or add additional services—it’s
fast and easy.
8. Fierce protection of your personal information. One Website Solution works hard to prevent your data from
being “mined.” And unlike some of our competitors who will happily sell your
information to anyone for a price, One Website Solution will never under any
circumstance make it available to third parties, unless legally required to do
so. (Please do understand, though, that information in the Whois database is
public domain. One Website Solution does everything possible to prevent screen
access to it, but under certain circumstances, it can be obtained.)
9. Unique, valuable and innovative software and services. At One Website Solution, you can get everything you need
to make the most out of your domain ownership and Internet experience: private
“unlisted” registrations; Traffic Blazer®(search engine registration); c-Site®(copyright application); Secure SSL
Certificates; Merchant Accounts and more.
One Website Solution takes great
pride in providing its customers with excellent customer service. Should you
have any questions or issues, take advantage of one of several avenues to get
the service you need. Also, One Website Solution often has terrific phone-only
offers on products and services, so be sure to ask when you call!
The best way to get the most out of
your One Website Solution experience is to stay in touch with the latest One
Website Solution happenings. Our monthly newsletter, keeps you in the loop with
